The Cretaceous Vaca Muerta and Jurassic Los Molles formations are considered to be the principal source rocks for oil and natural gas in the Neuquén Basin of Argentina. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the key components of this emerging resource play by analyzing the composition and maturity of the source rocks, the character of the reservoirs, the hydrodynamic setting of the formations, and an overview of the geomechanical properties of the formations. Deliverables include isopach, structure, Total Organic Carbon, Vitrinite Reflectance, Tmax maps and a Pressure vs Elevation Graph.
